Greens superintendent Troy Fulkerson maintains Scotfield's grounds in fabulous condition. Constructed in 1966, this golf course is one-of-a-kind in eastern NC. The course has long been distinguished by its rolling fairways, bent grass greens, and irrigated bermuda fairways which are bordered by towering Carolina Pines. While presenting a challenging set-up, the course also offers plenty of scoring opportunities. All four par 5's are reachable in two shots. Ultimately; however, scoring depends on your ability to stay out of the pines and navigate the smooth bent grass greens, a rarity in this region. Check out the link below to see a video of the greens:

Approach shot into the 1st hole
Only 6300 Yards from the championship tees, one might think Scotfield can easily be tamed. This golf course presents a far greater challenge than its yardage might suggest, however, as evidenced by the fact that 63 stands as the course record after 40 plus years of hosting top professional and amateur golfers from throughout the region. There is no better example than Hole 1, which at only 294 years, begs heavy hitters to go for the green. But, with woods left, out of bounds right, and a tricky approach, this "birdie hole" can quickly turn into a big number.

A brand new fleet of EZ-Go carts was recently purchased and construction was completed on the players' gazeebo. These new additions further add value to a course that has been hailed as the best kept secret in the east.

Scotfield can not claim any single hole as its signature hole. Instead, members and guests have long attempted to tame Scotfield Country Club's famed "loop." 'The loop" consists of holes 10, 11, and 9. 'The loop" has settled many playoffs and given weekend golfers who were bested during the 18 hole match an opportunity for redemption . Can you make 'the loop' in -2?
"THE LOOP"
#10-145 Yard Par 3

With bunkers protecting the pin, miss this green and bogey becomes a distinct possibility
#11-359 Yard Par 4

A short dogleg right, the pine trees force you to take your drive up the left side of the fairway. Take it too far and you are scrambling from the woods. Your approach from the left places a fairway bunker between you and a birde putt.
#9-500 Yard Par 5
PICTURE OF 9 WILL BE POSTED SOON
Can you reach this Short Par 5 in 2? You can if you bomb a tee shot beyond the elbow of this dogleg right. A downhill approach shot leaves little room for error, however, as a missed green means getting up and down from 30 feet below the putting surface. Further, your work is far from done upon reaching the green. The largest green at Scotfield leads to many 3-putts.
Please come join us as Scotfield Golf and Country Club for a challenging 18 hole layout and rewarding day of golf. We promise once you experience the best kept secret in the east, you will be back for more.
